This part of the site is new for Moto 911, so keep checking in to see the latest crash photos. Many of our customers requested a part of the site that is dedicated to just crashed equipment and some FAQ’s, so here it is.

  • What type of plastic material does Shogun use to produce their frame sliders? Shogun has their own material made to their specifications. The material is made by the same company every time to insure quality and consistency in every Shogun product. Because of the cheap copies of their product line, the material specs are kept as proprietary information that is one of the reasons for this part of the site. Results are what matters.
  • Do Shogun frame sliders have metal inserts? Yes, every Shogun frame slider kit comes with 6061 T6 machined aluminum inserts. Some other companies out there just drill a hole though the plastic where the bolt passes though, this usually results in the slider pulling off around the bolt or causes a stress riser and the slider breaks off.
  • Will a Shogun frame slider kit save my bodywork if I crash? Shogun frame sliders are really meant to help possibly save the frame from damage in the event of a crash. Because Shogun frame slider products have been successful in saving cases, bodywork, levers and so on in the past, customers just assume sometimes you can put the product on and no damage will happen. The fact is, some crashes result in little or no damage to the motorcycle and some bikes are destroyed. It’s kind of like a bumper on a car sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t, it really depends on all the different forces applied during the incident. We’ve seen bikes crash at 100 mph with little damage and some at 15 mph with major damage.
  • Does Shogun make extended frame sliders? No. The longer the slider the more protection? Not true, the longer the slider the more leverage the bike has on it. Look at GP bikes or Superbikes generally speaking the sliders are very short, sometimes even hidden behind the fairings. If a so called “extended” frame sliders really worked that would be the first place you would see them. The extended frame slider name was created to generate more business in a competitive market. If you want another place to stand maybe they work for that.
  • Do you offer support during the install process? Yes of course, we are here Monday though Friday 8am to 5pm P.S.T. If you do have a question about the install, try to be next to your bike when you call. Just ask for technical support.

******This is no guarantee or warranty that your bike will come out looking good after your next get off but keep in mind sometimes it doesn’t matter what you have on your bike for crash protection frame sliders, spools, bar ends, cages and so on bikes can be completely destroyed from even simple low impact crashes. No crash is identical, it may be the same corner but generally speaking different forces are applied based on the type of crash and conditions.******
